How to install Botnet Blocker for Open-Mesh
Installing Botnet Blocker for Open-Mesh is quick and easy. Simply follow the steps below. If you need a hand, we offer full support to walk you through each step of the way.
1. Purchase a GuestTrack license
Purchase a Botnet Blocker license at guesttrack.com. You’ll need to tell us the exact network name, so it’s best to copy and paste this directly from CloudTrax.
2. Run the script
We’ll email you a URL that contains a custom SH script. Paste this URL into the Custom SH Server field in CloudTrax for your network. The field can be found in the Advanced settings tab. Click the “Update Network Settings” button in the top right corner of the page to begin the installation process. Botnet Blocker will be installed on each Open-Mesh access point as they check-in to the dashboard, typically no longer than every 10 minutes.
3. Monitor and remediate
Botnet Blocker will begin blocking botnet traffic immediately and reporting back infected devices within an hour (should they communicate). You can view the Botnet Blocker reports on the GuestTrack dashboard and begin cleaning infected devices on your network. Remember: some infected devices may only communicate once or twice per day, depending on their instructions, so it may take a while for any information to show up.
